Winding down on the Olympic Peninsuala and getting ready for Halibut, Lingcod and Summer Salmon. Here are a few pictures from the last few days on the Hoh. Big fish!
Halibut and Lingcod just around the corner in May. Ocean chinook begins in June and we look for anothe banner year all the way through August. We even get a couple weeks to catch chinook in Grays Habor. Give us a call.

Westport Ocean Salmon Season
Ocean salmon season is just around the corner. The projections are just starting to evolve in the North of Falcon season setting process. By what I am hearing it bodes to be another great salmon season with a tremendous run of chinook. Don't miss out. I will be posting seasons and sending emails as soon as our seasons become finalized.

Father and Son Weekend
Great weekend with TJ and Payton. Its an annual trip for this father and son. Payton again outdoes his dad for total fish for the weekend. Seems like a broken record, rain all day but fish biting well. Not all that bad with forced air heat for the fisherman in our boats. I don't know how we ever survived before we built these great heaters 10 years ago.
Lots of great fish in the 9 to 14 pound range. Lots of fish getting up our rivers to spawn. So far this year only one native fish has been kept by our customers for over 200 fish landed. People are finally seeing the importance of releasing these magnificent fish so we can enjoy them for many generations to come.

Rain and First Steelhead
Barret McCann and his second steelhead of the day. This 9 year old from Gig Harbor ended up catching his first steelhead and four for the day including a 17 pound buck. His brother Carter also got in on the action landing 5 steelhead for the day. A very special thanks to grandpa (Joe McCann) for taking his son Alex and grandsons Barret and Carter fishing. Fishing traditions are always remembered and this family has a great start. I will add more photos of these guys as soon as I get them unloaded.

Steelhead Fishing Really Good
On good roll with large steelhead this year. So far 7 at or above 20 pounds and 2 over 25 pounds. Seems to be a good number of large fish returning. A few more mounts for Blackwater.
Looking forward to a little dryer weather. Kind of tired having wet sleeves all day. Thank good for front and rear forced air heating systems in the Hyde Drift boat. Makes a cold day quite comfortable.

Stay tuned for the announcement of ocean salmon season options. We should get some word on optons in the next few weeks.

Great Action on the Peninsula
Howie was the big fish man this weekend with 4 in the teens and one 25 pounds. I bet he is researching fiberglass fish replicas as we speak. Not likely that you get two chances in a lifetime so get it mounted! You will never forget it.
TJ also cracked the 20 pound class this weekend, congrats and thank you for wearing photogenic clothing on the day you decided to go to the 20 pound club. TJ even celebrated, maybe a little too much, by buying us all dinner. Way to go, we appreciated it.
We also had some really nice hatchery fish in the mix this weekend. Sunday was an epic day with over 2 inches of rain and not a dry bone but we still managed to catch fish. Lots of bailing. Tnak god for our forced air heating systems or these fragile guys might have cashed it in.
Hey guys I still need your pictures, please send then to my email at orrfishn@msn.com. Thanks again!
