Great Action on the Peninsula

Big weekend on the Olympic Peninsula!  Had a great time with the crew from Shelton.  Lots of large fish and alot of fish to round out a great month of January.  Everyone got in on the action.  Had several fish in the high teens and two over 20 pounds.

Howie was the big fish man this weekend with 4 in the teens and one 25 pounds.  I bet he is researching fiberglass fish replicas as we speak.  Not likely that you get two chances in a lifetime so get it mounted!  You will never forget it.

TJ also cracked the 20 pound class this weekend, congrats and thank you for wearing photogenic clothing on the day you decided to go to the 20 pound club.  TJ even celebrated, maybe a little too much, by buying us all dinner.  Way to go, we appreciated it.

We also had some really nice hatchery fish in the mix this weekend.  Sunday was an epic day with over 2 inches of rain and not a dry bone but we still managed to catch fish.  Lots of bailing.  Tnak god for our forced air heating systems or these fragile guys might have cashed it in.

Hey guys I still need your pictures, please send then to my email at orrfishn@msn.com.  Thanks again!

Where is it?

Anyone know where this rapid is?
Hint: It is a great place for Dinner!

Winter Wonderland Steelheading

Been very cold again but fishing has been great as you can see from a few select photos for the week.  Lots of nice fish making their way through the ice waters.  Those willing to put in a full day and work hard have been rewarded with some very nice fish.  Lots of fish in the teens and one about 20 pounds this week.

The scenery has been absolutely breath taking as you can see by the ice and snow on the trees - a real winter wonderland.  Looks like rain again after a large amount of snow.  Hope it stays cool.  After that I bet on some more great fishing. I am looking forward to those warmer and longer days of March and April however.

Don't forget about ocean salmon season it is just around the corner. I will be posting season information as soon as it comes out but you better start making plans.  Already got several weeks booked for La Push for those Umatilla Kings and then Westport for the big push. Based on my information King fishing should be as good or better than the last 2 years which were phenomenal. Halibut days are about filled.  Give us a call and check in.

Winter Steelheading

A couple of nice Snider Creek fish for Dom and Dave.  Fishing remains good when the water drops between rain storms.  I am expectng good fishing to continue.  After a few soakingings in this lastest round of rain storms I already miss the dry days of December.

There is lots of interest in Halibut and Ling Cod fishing for April, May and June 2012.  Get a spot before we fill up.
